Tuition Payments
Option #1: Annual Payments – 5% discount (NON-REFUNDABLE)
Option #2: Monthly Payments (September-May)
Tuition is due on the 1st of every month. A reminder will be sent home the week before tuition is due.
An automatic late fee of $15 will be applied to your next bill for any payments received after the 5th of each month. Please do not get upset when you see the charge.
There will be a $30 charge for all checks returned to River Dance Centre. After 2 NSF checks, only cash will be accepted.
Anyone that would like their bills to be automatically mailed, please call and let Mrs. Claire know.
There is a slotted mailbox in the studio lobby for payment drop off.
Tuition Rates
Tuition rates are based on a set monthly rate, and not necessarily based on the number of classes per month. Due to holidays and end of the year performances, the number of classes per month may vary. Each month must be paid in full, regardless of the number of classes. Absences due to illness, vacation, and the like, are not deducted from tuition.
April and May tuition will be combined. This allows families to purchase tickets from the Heymann Performing Arts Center. Families with an existing unpaid account balance will not be allowed to purchase tickets. Promptness in paying fees helps the studio meet its financial obligations on time.

- Jazz shoes are required for ages 9+
- Dance shoes should not be worn to and from class, only during class.
Cover-ups should be worn to and from class. No t-shirts or shorts are to be worn while dancing, unless they are spandex hot shorts.

Any lost items will be added to the lost and found.
It is preferable to have hair pulled back and out of the child’s face.
Any class limited to ballet instruction:

General Rules
Students need to arrive 5 minutes before their scheduled classes and are to be promptly picked up at the end of class. If this presents a problem, please call River Dance Centre.
The semi-circle is strictly a pick-up and drop-off location. Due to limited space, please do not park your car in the parking lot or semi-circle if you are staying inside the studio waiting for your child. You can park in the lot across from the studio or along River Ranch Blvd.
The observation window will be open the 3rd full week of each month beginning in October and running through February. Observations will not take place during the month of December due to Christmas parties.
The goal of our staff is to teach your child proper dance techniques. If you plan on attending observation week, please keep in mind that this can be very distracting to the students. This makes many students self-conscious and uncomfortable knowing that they are being watched.
Please refrain from entering the dance room while the teacher is instructing. We need the students to listen to the instructors at this time. Any interruption is very disruptive to the entire class.
If a child will not be able to attend class or will need to leave class early, please notify our office.
Missed classes can be made up by attending another class time. Please call for other class schedules.
A lost and found bin is provided in the waiting area.
All students are expected to be on their best behavior in class, and whenever representing River Dance Centre.
The policy of River Dance Centre is to place students according to age in class Primary AM – Beginner.
Through years of experience, our teachers have recognized that around ages 7+, children begin to mature differently in their dance expression. Due to this fact, we will be placing students based on ability rather than age. We do this in order to maximize your child’s dance education in hopes that this will help with self-esteem and alleviate intimidation.
No gum, food, or drinks will be allowed in either studio room!
Costumes
Costume payments will be completed in 2 installments (3 installments for the older students). The first installment is due in September and the second is due in October. Payments not made by December 1st will result in your child’s costume not being ordered.
Once costume payments have been made, there will be NO REFUNDS, even if your child withdraws from the studio!
Costumes that are ordered through a costume company are not custom made for each child. We do our best with the measurements to determine the best fit for the child. RDC is not responsible for any alterations needed on a costume.
Upon receiving the costumes, make sure all pieces are accounted for in the costume bag. We are not responsible for the costume after it leaves the studio. This now becomes the parent’s responsibility.
In order to protect the costume, please do not let your child play in his or her costume until after the revue!
Graduates
River Dance Centre requires that you meet the following criteria in order to perform a graduate solo:
- Must be in Advanced II or Advanced III class
- 40-50 assisting hours
- 3 years minimum of competition experience within your high school years
- 4 years minimum of ballet and jazz training in high school years
If you meet the above requirements and would like to perform a solo, you can either choose a teacher to choreograph the dance, or you may choreograph it yourself. There will be a choreography fee, and you will be required to contribute to the dance.
If you do NOT meet the above criteria, you are still able to be presented on stage and are allowed to participate in the group dance if you would like.
Dance Revue
Every year, we highlight our dance training by showcasing a performance at the Heymann Performing Arts Center.
For Beginner dance classes through Hip-Hop classes:
- Once rehearsals begin for the dance revue, it is critical to have full attendance from this point forward.
Due to past problems, we have established a revue rule: Only THREE (3) missed classes are allowed beginning in JANUARY. If you miss more than 3 without teacher approval, the teacher may pull your child from the dance.
Competition
If you choose to participate in competition, you are making a commitment to your teacher as well as to the other girls. Once you have committed and your fees have been paid, there is no dropping out!!!
Extra practices will be required. These may occur on weekends and during holidays. Girls can miss no more than 3 extra practices to compete.
Successful competitions require cooperation from both parents and children.
When you are representing River Dance Centre at a convention or competition, you must maintain your best behavior.
Throughout the year, information will be sent to you concerning dance competitions and conventions. If you choose to compete during the year, we would like for you to attend at least one dance convention.
